New risk factor for dementia found 16:25

An analysis of data from 3.5 million people found the risk of dementia increased in people with a criminal record. This was reported by MedicalXpress.

Scientists examined data obtained from people over the age of 50, 800 thousand of whom had a criminal history. Older adults who committed serious crimes, were repeatedly convicted, or were sentenced to long prison sentences had a significantly higher risk of developing dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
