A man who suffered nine fractures, psychosis and temporary memory loss after an accident underwent surgery at Ramensky hospital. This was reported by Ministry of Health of Moscow Region.
The 35-year-old man, who was injured in the accident, was taken to Ramenskaya hospital in extremely serious condition. He was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, fractured facial and hip bones, and torn pelvic bones. These damages caused psychosis and temporary memory loss.
“The man had 3 surgeries. First, an oral surgeon restored the integrity of the lower jaw bone. The trauma surgeon then performed osteosynthesis of the pelvic bones. Then, using an orthopedic table and special devices, we restored the correct position of the femur and performed its osteosynthesis. All operations were successful and lasted only 6 hours,” said Vsevolod Ushanov, head of the trauma department at Ramenskaya Hospital.
On the tenth day after surgery, the man could sit independently. He was discharged in good health. The patient faces a long process of regaining motor functions to return to a full life.
