Survey results showed that more than 83% of respondents relied solely on their usual medication; tourists take medications from home while on holiday and use them as their main method of treatment. At the same time, much fewer respondents (28%) stated that they purchase medicines from local pharmacies, if necessary, on the advice of pharmacists.
One in ten tourists contact an insurance company in case of illness; About 11% said they were seeking treatment advice from experts. Almost the same number of Russian tourists (10%) seek professional medical help. Therefore, only 5% of tourists go to the doctor or call a doctor to the hotel if they feel symptoms of illness during their travels.
It is curious that 7 percent of tourists completely ignore the symptoms of the disease, do not limit themselves in activities and continue their holidays as usual. About 3% prefer to stay in a hotel room until the symptoms of the disease disappear, but do not use medication to support the body.
