“We don’t have any decisions on this, but we are looking at different options, whether it be expanded training activities, a rotation model or other activities,” Jaakkola said. According to him, the country’s defense forces are quite strong, but the possibility of NATO troops arriving on its territory in the future cannot be ruled out.
Jaakkola emphasized that there is currently no immediate military threat to Finland and its development depends on the situation in Ukraine.
It was noted that Finland is the only alliance country that does not have permanent troops from other NATO countries.
