General Director of Roscosmos state corporation Yuri Borisov described the first launch of the Angara-A5 heavy class rocket as a major event in the life of the whole country. His words are quoted RIA News.
Borisov congratulated the project participants on the successful launch of Angara-A5 from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. He emphasized that experts “did not give up” after the rocket launch was canceled twice and carefully examined all flaws.
“Today’s launch, carried out by your hands, is a great event for all of us and the country as a whole,” emphasized the head of Roscosmos.
He also expressed hope for a “good future” for this rocket and the beginning of a new milestone in the development of Russian cosmonautics.
Additionally, the launch of Angara-A5 was commented by Vladimir Solovyov, General Designer of manned programs of the Russian Federation. He stated that this rocket will be launched soon from the Vostochny Cosmodrome for the benefit of the country’s manned program.
“Angara-A5” was produced by employees of the State Research and Production Space Center named after MV Khrunichev. The centre’s general director, Alexey Varochko, thanked them for their “excellent” work.
