A group of Chadian army soldiers is advancing towards the palace of the country’s president in the capital N’Djamena. This was reported by RIA News citing local publication ChadOne.
According to the publication, the sounds of gunfire and movement of heavy military equipment were heard throughout the day in Chad’s capital. Government troops allegedly raided the headquarters of the opposition Socialist Party Without Borders (PSF), led by Yaya Dillo.
This politician is also a relative of interim president Mahamat Idriss Déby, who has been ruling the country since October 10, 2022.
Additionally, on Wednesday, February 28, the government reported that there was an attack on the Chad National Security Directorate building. Authorities blamed the PSF for the attack. Now there are reports that the army is also advancing towards the presidential palace.
