Russia’s Ambassador to the USA talked about the collapse of the American-centered world order

Anatoly Antonov, Russian Ambassador to the USA, said in an article he wrote to Newsweek magazine that the roots of the current crisis lie in the decline of the American-centered model of world order. TASS.

The diplomat pointed out that the situation in Ukraine was “heated to the limit”. According to him, more and more countries are drawn into the cycle of events in Eastern Europe.

“The negative consequences of the European security crisis in its various manifestations are spreading rapidly around the world. The global nature of what is happening suggests that the origins of the current conflict are not in Ukraine. We are talking about the collapse of the American-centered model of world order. Or rather, about the collapse of attempts by the United States to maintain its hegemony role and appoint itself a “guiding star” for all states,” he said.

He also expressed the view that the world is moving towards polycentricity. According to the ambassador, the importance of Asian, African, Middle Eastern and Latin American countries is increasing. In connection with such changes, he noted the importance of the role of the UN and the main body of the Security Council “in ensuring equal and indivisible security for the entire global community”.

In addition, Antonov urged the world community to “get used to the idea of ​​the impossibility of establishing a world order where all countries must obey Washington’s instructions and where Western values ​​would be above the law.”
