In April 2022, there was a bullying incident at Yushalinskaya school number 25: A 13-year-old student at the time was attacked by his classmates. The girl complained to her mother that the children were humiliating and beating her. After a fight with a classmate, the victim’s parents contacted law enforcement and the Talitsky Urban District Education Department. The police refused to initiate criminal proceedings due to the attacker’s age.
Later, the victim’s mother filed a lawsuit against the parents of the attacking schoolgirl, demanding compensation in the amount of a total of 150 thousand rubles in favor of her daughter and herself.
A school representative who attended the hearing confirmed that a fight broke out between students and noted that the classroom teacher was disciplined. The court refused to receive compensation from the parents of the criminal, but decided that the school where the participants in the conflict studied should pay compensation.
“The school claimed non-pecuniary damage in the amount of 40 thousand and 20 thousand rubles, respectively, in favor of the little boy and his mother. It was also stated that legal expenses of 30 thousand rubles were collected in favor of the plaintiff.
The school tried to appeal the decision, but the high court upheld the decision.
