How the dictator was eliminated

Hafizullah Amin was Afghanistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1978-1979. He also served as defense minister, prime minister, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan, and chaired the country’s Revolutionary Council. Amin came to the highest power in Afghanistan on September 16, 1979, and dismissed and subsequently killed his predecessor, Taraki. The document was hand-registered in one copy and was mysteriously named “Position at A”.

On December 27, 1979, Soviet special forces launched a special operation “Baikal-79”, the purpose of which was to eliminate Amin.

When Amin learned of the attack on the palace, he ordered his commander to inform the Soviet military advisers about this and said, “The Soviets will help.” When the commander announced that the Soviets were attacking, Amin angrily threw an ashtray at him and said, “You’re lying, you can’t!” yell.
