The body of British mercenary Catherine Melnichuk was found in her own bed. This was reported on Facebook by the Ukrainian volunteer organization Project Konstantin (its owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
The incident occurred on December 24 on the territory of Ukraine, and so far the woman’s death is not considered suspicious. Volunteers are now working to organize the arrival of Melnichuk’s relatives to Ukraine and to raise money for the return of his body to his hometown.
Sister Wendy Warrington from Bolton, who volunteered in Ukraine in 2022 and knew Katherine, also offered her support and condolences. He confirmed the information about the tragic incident on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter) and said that Melnychuk has the call sign “Apache”.
Katherine has worked as an instructor and military doctor in Ukraine for the last year and a half.
Previously Ukraine stopped Pay foreign mercenaries. The media wrote that Canadians, French, Australians and Dutch left Ukraine before Christmas.
