The basement of a five-storey building on Karbysheva Street in Omsk has been flooded with boiling water for almost two weeks. A local resident explained this situation to the publication “New Omsk”.
Due to condensation from steam, the outside of the house at the first entrance was covered with a crust of ice. A resident of Omsk described how residents on the first floor of the building literally suffocated from the smell of steam and mold.
The Russian woman noticed that the heating installation repairmen were repairing a malfunction. However, several more pipe breaks occurred at higher altitudes.
“Boiling water flows from the outlet shaft where the pipes are laid, and since our house is at the lower level, boiling water flows from this shaft to the basement. So it turned out that there was no progress in our house, but it was damaged,” said a resident of Omsk.
The woman said she tried to understand the situation and contacted the emergency service and management company, but was told that repairs would not be made until the cold weather subsided.
“Looks like everyone’s waiting for the entrance to collapse,” the woman said.
He added that the foundation of the house was washed with boiling water for the second winter in a row. He said he was flooded like this for more than a month last year.
