Putin to make first foreign trip since ICC arrest warrant next week

President of Russia, Vladimir PutinHe will make an official visit to Kyrgyzstan next weekIt will be his first trip abroad since the International Criminal Court (ICC) ordered the detention of Ukrainian children for alleged forcible deportation in May.

The Presidency of Kyrgyzstan confirmed the trip, which will coincide with the celebration of the meeting in Bishkek of leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which consists of almost a dozen former Soviet Union republics.

Putin measured his actions since the beginning of the war The military offensive against Ukraine, however, carries a new burden because of the possibility of arrest if he travels to a country party to the Rome Statute since May.
