Former pupils demand apology from Irish school for bullying Nazi teacher 05:48

Louis Feutren, a French teacher at St Conleth’s School in south Dublin who worked there from 1957 to 1985, was a Nazi collaborator. He had a penchant for inflicting cruel punishments and bizarre humiliations on his students. He joined the Breton nationalist group fighting for Germany during World War II. Both staff and students learned that the school’s French teacher hated France and was under investigation there.

Kieran Owens, who attended the school from 1966 to 1974, said Feutren was frightened. “No one will think of opposing Mr. Freuthen. He was a volcano ready to erupt at any moment. If there was any disruption it would have happened very, very quickly and brutally. I saw him hit a student and fly across the room,” an eyewitness said.
