Brazil resident ate pesto and spent a year in hospital, writes Mirror. According to doctors, the woman contracted botulism.
Doralice Goes, 47, bought a jar of pesto from the local market. However, after eating the sauce, the woman felt bad.
“The pesto had no expiration date and the seller had not given me storage instructions, but I was a frequent customer. The sauce retained the same appearance, color, aroma and taste,” the woman recalls.
As soon as Doralice reached the doctor, her body stopped working completely. After a detailed examination, doctors said that he had botulism and recommended treatment.
“In a short time, I was able to move my fingers again and make small sentences,” says the Brazilian.
