General Director of the Center MV Khrunichev Alexei Varochko said that the assembly of the first flight model of the oxygen-hydrogen upper stage (KVTK) for the Angara launch vehicle will begin in 2025. This has been reported TASS.
KVTK is being developed at the Center. MV Khrunichev by order of the state company Roscosmos. Liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen are used as fuel.
Varochko emphasized that the KVTK contract has already been signed, and at the moment design documents are being prepared.
“According to the plans we currently have, the first launch is scheduled for 2027,” he said.
At the end of May 2019, a contract for the creation of KVTK was published on the public procurement website. According to the document, by 2026 it is planned to spend a total of 9.1 billion rubles on business.
