A drunk resident of Vyazma set fire to his wife, who wouldn’t let him drive

A drunken resident of the city of Vyazma, Smolensk region, set fire to his wife, who did not let him drive. This is reported by the website of the regional branch of the Commission of Inquiry (IC).

According to investigators, the woman hid the car keys from her husband. The man became angry, doused his wife and apartment with petrol and then set it on fire. The Russian woman ran into the street and doused herself with snow. She was hospitalized with burns to about 80 percent of her body.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Smolensk region, the man was not injured. The police have arrested him. A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of article 30 and part 2 of article 105 of the Penal Code (“attempted murder”).

Earlier, a resident of the Astrakhan region set fire to the house where his wife and children were. The man explained his act as an insult to his wife and constant quarrels.
