Tunic is an isometric action game reminiscent of the early installments of the series The Legend of Zelda. Exciting adventures, puzzles, exploration of dungeons and battles with various monsters are waiting for you in the game. In this guide we will tell you how to find gold coins in the game and why you need them.
How to use gold coins in Tunic
You can find out why Tunic needs gold coins on page 20 of the in-game manual. You will find this guide at the top of the Outworld mountain.
But if you didn’t have time to find it, you can still use the coins anytime. To do this, you have to go to a wishing well, which you often find in the open world of the game. For example, one of them is near the old house, and the other is in the western forest, next to the first shrine.

Equip a gold coin and then use it. You should see a beam of light from the bottom of the pit. Nothing changes at first, but throwing a few coins opens up extra slots for amulets. With these items you can increase your stats and become stronger.
Each subsequent slot (except the second) requires more gold coins:
- 1st extra slot – 3 coins;
- 2nd extra slot – 3 more coins;
- 3rd extra slot – 4 more coins;
- 4th extra slot – 5 extra coins.
So you need 15 coins to unlock the maximum number of item slots.
Where to look for gold coins in Tunic
Coins can be found in treasure chests that can be found all over the game world. In addition to gold, you can find upgrade items and various consumables in it.

You can also purchase coins from the Skeleton Merchant for 999 local in-game currency each. However, we do not recommend spending money in this way, as finding treasure chests is not difficult.
