Tourist faces up to 7 years in prison for accidentally bringing marijuana from Thailand to Russia 10:13

A Russian tourist accidentally brought the marijuana he bought from Thailand to Russia, forgetting to take it out of his bag. He is on trial with a prison sentence of up to 7 years for drug trafficking. reported Baza is on Telegram channel.

According to the publication, 56-year-old Russian Vladislav went to Phuket for a vacation. He bought cannabis there because it was legalized and freely sold in Thailand. During the return flight to Russia, the man forgot that he had a gram and a half of drugs in his clothes.

Marijuana was found in a Russian suitcase by customs officers at Sheremetyevo Airport. A man can be accused of drug trafficking (Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In this case, the passenger faces up to seven years in prison.
