“The National Research University School of Economics Faculty of Law is working on a unique project called “Ethics and Law: Correlation and Mutual Influence Mechanisms”. The global goal is to identify the role of morality in legal regulation. “For this, technology has been developed where, among other things, an artificial intelligence-based neural network can evaluate the ethics of invoices and other legal actions.”
The project is divided into several elements. Thus, the “Time Tape of Ethics and Law” contains examples of historical Russian legal norms from the 15th to the 20th centuries, each example contains an ethical interpretation. In addition, in the future, the online portal “Directory of Legal Ethics” will be launched, where any person can automatically receive a moral and ethical assessment of the text of the law uploaded to the system. was created using a neural network.
The authors of the development hope that the system will allow legislators to adopt more ethical laws. “The State Duma has already expressed interest in the relevant work, and there are discussions about testing the algorithm and its possible application,” said Vadim Vinogradov, Dean of the Law School of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
The launch of the Legal Ethics Index is scheduled for the end of 2023.
