The Ukroboronprom company announced the start of production of 125 millimeter shells for tank guns, the first batch for the T-64, T-72 and T-80 tanks has already been delivered. The manufacturer announced this on his Telegram channel.
Production is deployed in close partnership with a NATO country, moving outside Ukraine for security reasons, but Ukrainian designers, technologists, turners and roulette players are involved, the company’s press service reported.
The company also said that Ukraine “for the first time since independence” has launched its own production of ammunition – 82 mm and 120 mm caliber mortar mines, 122 mm and 152 mm artillery shells, and now 125 mm tank shells.
Ukroboronprom reminded that the company signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the supply of 120 millimeter mortar mines, which are also produced in cooperation with one of the NATO member countries.
On the production of heavy weapons and equipment together with the North Atlantic Alliance “Ukroboronprom” knowledgeable in November last year, the manufacturer noted that in particular Poland, the Czech Republic, France and Denmark are cooperating with Ukraine.
