Ministry of Defense reported cases of fake military draft

Major General Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, said that in the past few days he had received fake phone calls to the male population of Russia, in which the voice of an answering machine reported a call to the military commissariat.

According to him, all these fake calls are made from the territory of Ukraine. The Major General stressed that the calls were not correct and were a provocation of the Ukrainian special services.

“We officially declare: the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation does not call and does not plan to call any citizen in reserve to the military commissariat,” Konashenkov said.

On March 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law, which initially provides for criminal penalties for those who falsely state about the Russian military and administrative, and for a second part – for anti-war calls and calls for sanctions against Russia.

Dissemination of false information about the Russian armed forces is punishable by a fine of 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles or imprisonment for up to three years. If the information was disseminated using the official position – a fine from 3 to 5 million rubles. or imprisonment from 5 to 10 years. If the spread of counterfeit products has serious consequences – from 10 to 15 years.
