The Valencian Enterprise Competitiveness Institute (Ivace), affiliated to the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, has published a call for assistance for the development of R&D projects within the 2023 budget. A budget increase of approximately 19% compared to fiscal 2022commitment to start-ups (those under the age of five) and a special interest in initiatives aligned with sustainability, disruptive innovation and smart specialization.
“This year – pointed out Economy Minister Rafa Climent – we are designing calls focused on increasing the innovative potential of SMEs, and with these calls we want to make the most of innovative young companies that can produce new projects key actors in transferring innovation and technological knowledge to the productive fabric, creating high-quality jobs and reviving the economy”.
In this sense, Climent stated that it is planned to give additional points in the evaluation criteria to the projects carried out for such companies both in the call for SME R&D programs and in R&D in cooperation with the Ivace Innovation unit. .

As in the previous call, there is no project cap per company this year and initiatives submitted must be aligned with priority areas provided in the Valencia Community’s Smart Specialization Strategy (S3CV), such as: a commitment to a circular and low-carbon economydisruptive digital economy, human-focused innovation in health and well-being, as well as increased added value and sustainability mainly in the food chain.
In both programs, Ivace Innovation, Contribute to increasing private investment by companies in research and developmentthrough research, employment of technical and ancillary personnel, R&D services, assistance and consultancy commitments throughout the duration of the project.
More includes obtaining patents and licenses as well as the purchase and depreciation of materials and tools and equipment necessary for the development of projects.
The application submission period starts on February 1 and ends on March 14, 2023..
R&D programs for SMEs and Calls for Collaborative R&D are part of the Ivace 2023 Enterprise R&D+i Plan with a planned budget of 26 million euros.
