The meteor emission region (radiant) will be located near the star Castor in the constellation Gemini.
Conditions are unfavorable for Gemini observation this year. The moon will be near its last quarter, which will prevent meteors from being observed.
The flow rate will be 35 km/h, this is a low speed.
Observed from 17-27 December, the Ursida current will reach its maximum activity between 21-22 December. It’s the longest night of the year. It can only be observed in the Northern Hemisphere.
Conditions will be favorable for observing ursids. The moon tending to the new moon (December 23) will not block its light.
