Ukrainian authorities announced on Thursday that planned power outages will occur in both the capital, Kiev, and nine other regions today, as part of a program of restraint implemented following Russian forces’ attacks on supply stations in the European country in recent weeks.
Electricity company Ukrenergo has given distribution grid operators a “limited supply of electricity” that will affect Kyiv, Chernigov, Cherkasi, Yitomir, Sumi, Járkov and Poltava, where there are outage hours, and also Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kirovohrad, where there are “emergency outage programs” .
