Yandex has rolled out an updated search engine version called Y2, designed to deliver more precise results. When users look for a doctor, the results surface a list of specialists along with appointment costs and available hours. The same approach applies to product queries and online courses, making it easier to compare options at a glance.
The company claims to have analyzed hundreds of millions of articles and mapped thousands of doctors across cities through its own neural network. This depth of data fueling Y2 aims to improve relevance and personalization for everyday searches.
In addition, the system now scans video content with voiceovers and creates so-called big topics. These topics reflect a user’s long-term interests, covering areas like electronics, gaming, home repairs, and family life. This helps tailor search results to broader, enduring needs rather than just momentary queries.
There is also a feature that allows users to create child accounts, which ensures content is filtered to match a child’s age. This age-based restriction works not only on Yandex but also on other services like Kinopoisk, helping families manage what they see online.
Current searches can be performed on ya.ru and through the mobile app, where the neural network technology is actively applied to deliver more accurate results. The system’s capability extends to presenting popular actors as pioneers in visual content, illustrating the breadth of topics the AI can interpret and showcase. (VG Times)
