Nextgen version released this month as an update to the original game, The Witcher 3 delivers improved graphics and new options. Yet a modder known as A100N wanted more, crafting a mod that pushes the visual component even further.
Change Ultra4 Graphics Setting W3 NG adds extra graphics controls for a range of parameters.
- Number of background characters (+1 setting);
- Shadow quality (+4 settings);
- Terrain quality (+1 setting);
- Water quality (+3 levels);
- Foliage display distance (+2 settings);
- Grass density (+3 positions);
- Texture quality (+1 setting);
- Level of detail (+1 setting).
According to players, the mod noticeably enhances the game’s visuals. It has already been downloaded over five thousand times. Side-by-side screenshots have circulated online, clearly illustrating improved water reflections with the mod on the right and the original on the left (visual comparisons attributed to VG Times).
Of course, such beauty comes with a cost in frame rate, so this mod is best suited for systems with strong hardware. For the creator, a configuration example includes an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, an RX 5700 XT graphics card, and 16 GB of 3600 MHz RAM.
Users can download the Ultra4 Graphic Setting W3 NG Adjustment here. This aligns with earlier demonstrations showing how The Witcher 3 Next Gen runs on modest setups without a dedicated graphics card. In related news, early images of the Titan RTX Ada concept were leaked, revealing a card nearly twice as thick as the RTX 4090.
