The 3.1 update for Genshin Impact brings a wealth of content. Players can continue exploring Sumeru, complete missions, and meet a roster of new characters. For weapon enthusiasts, at least six fresh items have arrived. This guide dives into the Mahaira Aquamarine sword in depth: how to obtain it, awaken it, and which team setups it suits best.

What are the characteristics of Aquamarine Machaira

Machaira’s Aquamarine is a two‑handed four‑star sword designed to boost elemental mastery and elevate the entire team’s attack power. When selecting this weapon, consideration should extend beyond the main wielder to the team composition as a whole.

Its base attack reaches 510, while it raises elemental mastery to 165. The wielder’s attack power increases by 24% of their elemental mastery, and this buff also applies to other party members at 30% of the total increase. The effect stacks with Wandering Star and Xyphos Moonglow’s buffs. It triggers every 10 seconds and lasts for 12 seconds. Notably, the buff remains active even if the sword bearer leaves the battlefield.

How to get Mahaira’s Aquamarine?

The sword is obtainable through the standard wish system at the start of update 3.1. For a four‑star weapon, it tends to be easier to pull than the prior two swords, though luck still plays a role.

How to awaken Mahaira’s Aquamarine?

Awakening enhances the weapon’s abilities. It requires duplicating the sword and spending a dedicated amount of in‑game currency. There are five awakening levels in total.

  • 1 level – immediately available
  • 2 level – Every 10 seconds, the weapon gains 30% of its elemental mastery as attack power for 12 seconds. Other party members receive a buff at 30% of this value. Requires a duplicate and 1,000 Mora
  • 3 level – Every 10 seconds, attack power increases by 36% of elemental mastery for 12 seconds. Other party members gain 30% of this buff. Requires a duplicate and 2,000 Mora
  • 4 level – Every 10 seconds, attack power increases by 42% of elemental mastery for 12 seconds. Other party members gain 30% of this buff. Requires a duplicate and 4,000 Mora
  • 5 level – Every 10 seconds, attack power increases by 48% of elemental mastery for 12 seconds. Other party members gain 30% of this buff. Requires a duplicate and 8,000 Mora

How to raise Mahaira’s Aquamarine?

Ascension raises the weapon to a maximum of level 90, boosting base attack and elemental mastery. The process unfolds in six phases, each requiring resources and Mora.

  • 0-1 phase (requires level 20) — 5,000 pestilences, 3 echoes of burning power, 3 barrels of chaos, 2 seals of treasure thieves
  • 1-2 phase (requires level 40) – 15,000 pestilences, 3 glimpses of blazing power, 12 ships of chaos, 8 seals of treasure thieves
  • 2-3 phase (requires level 50) – 20,000 pestilences, 6 glimpses of blazing power, 6 chaos modules, 6 silver raven seals
  • 3-4 phase (requires level 60) – 30,000 pestilences, 3 Dreams of Blazing Might, 12 Chaos Modules, 9 Silver Raven Seals
  • 4-5 phase (requires level 70) – 35,000 pestilences, 6 dreams of blazing power, 9 chaos anchors, 6 seals of the golden raven
  • 5-6 phase (requires level 80) – 45,000 pestilences, 4 past burning powers, 18 chaos anchors, 12 golden raven seals

Echoes of Blazing Might and higher versions of these materials can be found in the Tower of Contemptible Pride. Chaos modules, ships, and anchors drop from Ruin Dragons, formidable foes that roam Sumeru. There are roughly twenty in total, with five being one‑time encounters and the rest rotatable over time. Seals of Treasure Thieves come from defeating foes bearing that name in battle.

Who is Machaira Aquamarine intended for?

When selecting a wielder, focus on elemental mastery and attack power, and ensure the team can take advantage of the weapon’s elemental buffs. Dori’s weapon stands out as an excellent match, especially in teams with Dendro and Electro reactions. Bei Dou is another solid option, offering both elemental mastery and an immediate burst boost alongside increased attack power.

Dilyuk, a favorite for many, can also master the sword, provided there are no other top claymores in the party. Sayu also benefits from Aquamarine, gaining notable attack power and health regeneration that strengthen the whole team.

How to play with Mahaira’s Aquamarine

To maximize the weapon’s effectiveness, players should select a wielder who can sustain strong elemental control while the team remains oriented toward offense. Keeping the buff active as consistently as possible is ideal, so choose a lead who can maintain uptime and synergy with the team’s elemental reactions.
