At the PC Gaming Show, a trailer was unveiled for a fresh release from 11 bit studios called The Alters. The initial preview focuses on how the main character encounters his alternate selves. Gameplay footage has not yet been released for the public.
It is described as a game about moments that reshape a life, about those split-second choices that flip the course of everything. The description suggests that looking inward reveals who we are today as a result of precisely such decisions. The central question posed is: WHAT, IF?
The leading figure in The Alters is Jan Dolsky, a modest worker who must make an emergency landing on a distant world. After that incident, Jan finds himself fighting for survival alone. His core objective becomes locating others who can aid in his escape. In a pivotal move, he creates alternate versions of himself, a decision that sends his life on a radically new trajectory.
The developers describe the game as a unique philosophical work. The emphasis appears to be on non-linear storytelling and branching outcomes. More specifics about the gameplay are expected to be released in the future. The project already maintains pages on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG, signaling a broad digital publishing plan.
