Last year the lineup introduced the 15-inch TECNO MEGABOOK S1 ultrabook, and this time the focus is the 14-inch version of the updated TECNO MEGABOOK T1, powered by a 12th generation Intel processor. A 15.6-inch variant with both AMD and Intel options is available as the baseline option.

Appearance

The TECNO MEGABOOK T1 arrives in Galaxy Silver with a magnesium alloy chassis. The finish is matte and slightly textured. The lid opens smoothly using a centered recess, and the model passes the one-finger lid test with a maximum hinge tilt of 180 degrees.

The build leans into a business aesthetic, avoiding gaming-style RGB accents. A small factory logo sits in the top-right corner of the lid, accompanied by a prominent MEGABOOK inscription across the top.

The 14-inch panel delivers a 1920×1200 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio. A 60 Hz refresh rate may feel modest by modern standards. Brightness is listed at 350 nits, adequate for outdoor work, and the color gamut covers 100% sRGB with adaptive brightness and DC dimming. TÜV Eye Comfort certification suggests reduced eye strain during long sessions.

A top edge webcam provides Full HD (2 MP) resolution, and a mechanical shutter is available for privacy. Two nearby microphones include AI noise suppression for clearer video calls.

Located on the left edge are a charging-capable USB-C port, a Kensington lock slot, a battery indicator, HDMI output, USB-A ports with display capabilities, and fast charging for other devices.

On the opposite side sits a reset button, a microSD card slot, two USB-A ports, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The rear and front edges have no ports.

The chassis rests on three rubber feet, the largest bearing the motto Stop at Nothing. A central cooling vent and TECNO VOC audio system with DT S:X Ultra surround sound add to the experience. The two built-in 2W speakers deliver sufficient sound for general use, though mids and bass are not strong points.

The MEGABOOK T1 uses a short, compact keyboard without a number keypad. Some number keys require key combinations, and a separate power button with a fingerprint sensor sits at the top-right. White backlighting offers four brightness levels.

The touchpad is comfortable and responsive, though the click mechanism is a touch biased toward the edges, leaving a small dead zone in the center for pressing.

The battery is claimed to exceed 75 Wh, enabling up to about 18 hours of use on a single charge. A compact 65W power adapter is included in the kit.

Performance. Synthetic testing

The TECNO MEGABOOK T1 underwent synthetic testing with Cinebench R23, CPU-Z and CrystalDiskMark, with results shown in accompanying screenshots.

Additional tests in 3DMark—Fire Strike, Time Spy, CPU Profile and Storage Benchmark—help gauge SSD speed and gaming readiness.

Performance. Playtesting

During gaming, the Core i5-12450H and integrated graphics reached about 85 degrees Celsius. The cooling system remains quiet during typical workloads and only becomes noticeable under heavier gaming sessions.

In a range of titles and workloads, at 1920×1080 with low to medium settings, frame rates typically hover around 45–60 FPS. Reducing the resolution can push to a smooth 60 FPS, but image quality may be less convincing.

While capable for many games such as World of Tanks, League of Legends, Fortnite and Counter-Strike, the machine lacks a discrete GPU for more graphics-intensive projects.

Results and impressions

What is the TECNO MEGABOOK T1 14″ best suited for? Office tasks, light design work, and basic video editing. It is not intended for heavy 3D rendering or 4K video exports, yet its 12th-generation processor, 8 cores, and Turbo Boost up to 4.4 GHz provide solid performance for everyday workflows.

Compact by design, the MEGABOOK T1 is easy to carry for work at home or on the go. Weighing about 1.4 kg, the charger is pocket-friendly as well.
