In 2023, Tanks Blitz players on mobile will face a pivotal clash with artificial intelligence as part of the January Battle Pass, titled Metal Storm. The developers have shared specifics about this new chapter.
How it all started
The journey began with Battle Pass 11 in 2022, introducing a tale of rebels opposing a domineering AI that aimed to wipe out humanity with bioengineered androids. Players were invited to join Operation Rescue and dismantle the central computer by gathering neuromodules and completing progression milestones.
Those who chose a special path, a premium pass, unlocked a unique tank built to fight AI and safeguard humanity.
Completing Operation Rescue yielded rewards to strengthen player profiles, including gold, credits, boosters, premium days, tank camo, and more. Special Pass holders could claim exclusive Battle Pass avatars and additional perks. They received a personalized profile background, an animated tank hero, extra camouflage for tanks at various levels, a second set of avatars, and a fourth level collectible tank.
What awaits players in 2023 in the decisive battle with AI
The 2023 mobile chapter of Tanks Blitz continues the saga of a brutal conflict with AI, inspired by action classics from the 80s and 90s. In Battle Pass 11, rebels gained control of numerous AI combat vehicles, some of which appeared upgraded. The flagship tank for the new Battle Pass represents a heightened version of one of the reprogrammed units.
With these assets, the Resistance will press the war onward, aiming to approach the city that houses the Central Processing Unit.
In a distant future, a city governed by artificial intelligence features cyborgs who feel right at home. The resistance prepares a decisive strike, with hunters steering the cyborgs toward their final confrontation. The central processor lies within a citadel, seemingly secure, yet unaware that a Metal Storm approaches. A specially selected team led by the rebel commander trains for a daring mission. Armored troops receive the latest camouflage and battle passes to break into the AI lair. They are problem solvers and relentless—ready to take on the challenge. Those who join the squad gain a real chance to outmaneuver the AI.
