How to find a regular flashlight in Sons of the Forest
To make cave exploration easier, the first step is locating a standard flashlight. The coolest part is that this can be accomplished in the very early moments of survival. If the player spawns on the beach—there are three original spawn points—the trek toward the leftmost beacon is the smart move, marked with a purple indicator. A map shows the beacon location for quick reference.
Proceed to the marker called “beacon 2” and inspect the rock. At the top there is a corpse bound with a rope. Cut the cord so the body drops, and a flashlight will fall with it. It is possible the flashlight isn’t directly on the body, so it helps to search a few feet away from the corpse as well.
The flashlight is modest in brightness, but its beam is far stronger than what a basic lighter offers. It provides ample illumination to navigate the dungeon corridors and tunnels with greater confidence.
How to find a flashlight for a gun
Besides the ordinary flashlight, another variant appears later in the story that attaches to the muzzle of a firearm. This gun-mounted light helps illuminate the path ahead while keeping both hands free for aiming. The trade-off is that its beam is not as strong as the standard flashlight. Still, it allows precise targeting and situational awareness, especially when the player wants to keep a lantern or lighter in the other hand for additional light sources.
This accessory is located inside a bunker that houses gold armor and is marked on the map as the Gold Armor marker. It is worth checking precisely that area when the search leads there.
