A recent look at Resident Evil Village brought attention to a so-called gold edition that had been announced the previous month. The newest horror trailer centers on an updated Mercenaries mode, bringing three familiar heroines into play: Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu. The clip showcases how each character wields their unique powers in fast-paced, mercenary-style combat.
Chris Redfield arrives with a sturdy rifle in hand and the ability to call in artillery strikes, turning the battlefield into a display of timed artillery support. The towering vampire Lady Dimitrescu fights up close with bladed claws, channels a swarm of flies for distraction or pressure, and tosses expensive furniture as makeshift weapons. Karl Heisenberg operates with magnetism, strengthening his own attacks and hurling offbeat scraps as part of his combat toolkit. The trio’s special moves are designed to intensify the action, offering players fresh strategic options in the Mercenaries mode.
In addition to these revamped challenges, the Enhanced Edition introduces a Rosa Winters narrative expansion and a third-person perspective that lets players experience the main campaign from a new vantage point. This new viewpoint adds a layer of immersion, allowing fans to revisit key moments through a different lens while maintaining the core storyline.
The Enhanced Edition is currently open for pre-order across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Those who place their order before November 24 will receive a Rosa Winters costume as a bonus, rewarding early supporters with a cosmetic upgrade.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is scheduled for release on October 28, pairing the expanded content with the original game’s atmospheric tension. Separately, a gaming news update noted Blizzard’s plan to remove floors in World of Warcraft, replacing them with new body models dubbed Body 1 and Body 2.
