Raubritter began life in early access as a cooperative medieval sandbox experience that blends building, survival, and role playing. It sits outside the realm of big-budget titles, yet it carries a stubborn charm—even if the price in Russia sits around 1717 rubles for those curious about its ambitions.

The main character, Raubritter, is a knight-robber who marches through a world that tests both wits and courage. Players begin by enduring the forest, crafting a secure camp, and then assembling a small crew to engage in raiding local merchants and landowners. Progress comes through upgrading the hero, his weapons, the crew, and the camp itself. Before a raid, choices must be made about who accompanies the raid and who stays behind to guard the hideout.

In this sandbox iteration, the game currently offers a quarter of the map to explore, a functional battle system, and robust crafting and building mechanics. The skill tree is still evolving, with a variety of foes such as wolves, bears, bandits, and knights, alongside wildlife including deer, roe deer, pigs, cows, elk, and bison. Merchants populate the world, and a weather and day-night cycle adds atmosphere and strategic considerations.

Looking ahead, developers plan several enhancements: a story mode, co‑op for up to four players, expanded multiplayer, and new places of interest like a tavern, a market, a monastery, and a prison. A reputation system, mini-games, AI companions who can harvest resources at the camp or assist during raids, and map expansion are also on the roadmap.

Haven’t you heard about the quirky humor surrounding adaptations and character cameos? The creators have continued to push in that direction, adding playful curiosities to the mix.
