As players grow stronger in Palworld, they will face new buildings that demand metal blocks. At times, the path to obtaining them isn’t obvious, and figuring out the crafting flow is essential. This guide explains how to process metal ore, how to craft blocks, and what items can be produced with them.

How to work metal ore

Metal ore is dug from sizable deposits hidden across the open world of Palworld. Unlike the smaller rock piles scattered around, these ore veins are large and carry a brownish-white tint. Players can harvest ore by striking with a pickaxe or by employing a specialized fire-based method.

Initially, the mining process works well with Rashoah, an animal resembling a wild boar. Later on, more advanced mining fires become accessible. In advanced stages, flying fires with unique attack types can be used for mining.

As explorers roam the world, it helps to mark ore deposits on the map. After ores are mined, they regenerate after a few days, allowing players to return and collect additional loot.

For example, several ore boulders can be found not far from a fast-travel point, making ore collection particularly convenient. The interactive map, described separately, can also aid this process.

How to make metal blocks

To craft blocks, a player must reach level 10 and unlock the Primitive Furnace technology. Building it requires the following resources:

  • Wood (20)
  • Stone (50)
  • Flame-making organ (3)

Wood and stone are typically easy to gather, while the flame-producing organ is earned by defeating fires of a specific kind, or by encountering those fires in the world.

Early in the game, a few fox cubs can be found in forest biomes. Defeating some animals yields a flame organ, and capturing at least one fox can prove useful for future tasks.

As players advance, the Technology section unlocks an improved oven at level 34, speeding up melting. After advancing another ten levels, an electrical oven becomes available.

What types of fires are required for ignition?

As noted earlier, the furnace lights the way for melting ore into ingots. Ruby, a small fox, handles tasks at the base and also serves as a helpful companion for exploration.

Beyond Ruby, several companions later gain the ability to start fires:

  • Reptiro – a massive fire creature that can ignite, mine stones, and mine ore;
  • Arsox – a fire-hued ram-like being that can light fires and fell trees;
  • Flambelle – a small doll-like girl who can ignite, craft objects, haul items, and sometimes carry a flame organ.

At higher levels in volcanic biomes, additional fires appear that can perform this work. It is wise to have a buddy at home with a specific task, so each helper stays focused. For instance, Ruby can concentrate on smelting metal ore into ingots, while other fires handle different duties to keep the furnace running smoothly.

What are metal blocks used for? What items can be created

Starting from hero level 10, blocks become a necessity in many activities. They support high-level workbenches and weapons workshops, and are essential for crafting nails, armor, and weapons.

These are the primary methods for obtaining metal ores and turning them into blocks in Palworld. If any detail seems off or helpful additions are imagined, the guide welcomes reader input in the community discussions.
