Each companion in the game comes with a mix of random traits and skills. Yet many players don’t realize Palworld hides a set of legendary friends, each carrying special value. These legendary fells stand apart thanks to passive buffs that other creatures do not possess. The guide below explains where to locate them all.

Which friends are legendary?

All companions differ in abilities, elemental affinities, and average level even within the same species. Still, there are four distinct ‘legendary’ partners that can be captured later in the game. They are part of the following group:

  • Paladius;
  • Necromus;
  • Frostallion;
  • Jetragon.

These companions carry an extra passive ability called “Legend,” a trait unique to them. The Legend skill enhances a firefighter’s attributes, boosting movement and flying speed by 15% and increasing both attack and defense by 20%. That makes them formidable opponents for players at any level and the most sought-after partners at every stage of Palworld.

Additionally, legendary creatures always come with a passive ability aligned to their type. This skill heightens the effectiveness of their active skills that tap into the same element, further sharpening their combat prowess. Let’s take a closer look at where to find each friend on the list.

Where can you find Paladius and Necromus?

Paladius and Necromus are a pair of legendary knights discovered in a specific area in Palworld. They pose a tough challenge, but they can become incredibly powerful allies if captured. To reach them, head to the desert region in the northeast of the map, near the fast-travel point at Vigilant Tower.

Despite their titles and possible rivalry, the two knights are not enemies. If either is challenged, both will attack immediately. That means a player must face two bosses at once. Prepare well, and ensure companions are at their peak level. A dark-type elemental partner is recommended to counter Paladius, a level 50 neutral-type boss, and a strong dragon is advised for Necromus, a level 50 dark-type boss.

In Early Access, the world’s backstory is sparsely detailed, but Paldek hints at a close connection between these bosses. They share a similar appearance and reuse the same base skills. Each one has level 2 logging and mining, though these are not their primary strengths. Paladius offers increased movement speed, a triple jump, and better defense. Necromus delivers speeds up to 1500 and a faster attack cadence, but only has two jumps.

Defeating or capturing them yields palanium bars, diamonds, and large palal souls. The duo also has a high crossbreeding rate, meaning they can only be bred by crossing plants of the same species.

    Where can you find Frostallion?

    Frostallion stands as a level 50 legendary world boss with an ice element, located east of the Genetic Research Squad Tower. Its Level 4 Refrigeration ability helps with keeping perishables fresh in a fridge or lowering temperatures with a cooler within a 50-foot radius. Frostallion is among the quickest to assemble pets in Palworld. Defeating or capturing it drops ice organs and diamonds. At maximum level, its ice block attack deals a base damage of 130.

    There is a variant named Frostallion Noct. This version lacks the Legend ability initially but can gain it through breeding with the original boss. It is obtainable by crossing Frostallion with Halzephyr.

      Where to find Jetragon

      Jetragon ranks among the four legendary pets in Palworld and is arguably the finest of the group. It is also the fastest flying pet in the world. Crafting its saddle, however, requires the player to be at least level 50.

      Beyond flight, Jetragon serves as a strong combat unit and wields firearms that deliver wide-area damage. Its Dragon attribute makes it a strong counter to dark-type foes. It also has the Level 3 Gathering skill and can be used in the base to collect resources.
