Owlcat Games Announces Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader
<p Russian studio Owlcat Games, acclaimed for fantasy role‑playing adventures like Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, reveals a new project titled Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. True to the studio’s pedigree, the game will unfold as a traditional party RPG inspired by the board game of the same name.
In Rogue Trader, players step into the shoes of a roaming trader who hails from an ancient lineage of privateers. This character wields the authority to shape a personal trading empire and to venture into the far reaches of Imperial space. The hero commands a colossal starship, backed by a vast crew and a network of attendants ready to execute his orders with precision and loyalty.
Throughout the journey, parties will visit diverse worlds, forge alliances, and confront formidable adversaries from the Imperium. Encounters include Chaos cultists and Xenos, factions regarded as some of the most dangerous threats in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Decisions made at critical moments will determine the fate of entire worlds and the lives of countless inhabitants.
Rogue Trader is being developed for PC and current‑generation consoles. A firm release date has not yet been announced. Ahead of launch, the developers plan several beta testing phases. Access to these betas will be tied to the purchase of one of the game’s early access sets on the official site. The basic option begins at $40 and includes a digital copy of the game, future beta access, and a Discord server; the top tier is valued at $99 and offers additional bonuses and perks.
