A modder known as FilmArtMods has introduced a fresh modification for Dragon’s Dogma 2 that adds a playable Assassin class. The creator shared two videos to illustrate the new class in action and how it fits into the game’s combat system.
The modder drew inspiration from iconic action franchises and games, including the Final Fantasy series, Ghost of Tsushima, and Black Myth: Wukong. To build the Assassin, a custom tool named Skill Maker by alphaZomega was employed, enabling more nuanced control over moves and effects.
In explaining the design, FilmArtMods says the Assassin’s attacks blend techniques from three fighting styles. The samurai influence brings aggressive, precise strikes; ninja elements enhance mobility and evasion; and elements drawn from forbidden arts add a touch of magic to the repertoire. For weapon choices, the creator recommends one-handed swords to maximize versatility in various combat scenarios.
The Assassin class is pitched as ideal for players who want a character that can adapt to different opponents and tactics. Its core appeal lies in flexibility, speed, and the ability to switch between direct confrontation and evasive play to outmaneuver adversaries.
The videos show a range of abilities, including the way every final hit of physical skills can close the distance to an enemy in range. Certain abilities also offer area damage, letting the Assassin control space and pressure multiple foes at once. The demonstrations aim to give a clear sense of how the class feels in real combat, not just as a collection of numbers on a screen.
Download access for the mod is available through the project’s distribution page. The modding community often shares new content like this to expand the experimental possibilities of Dragon’s Dogma 2, inviting players to experiment with different builds and playstyles.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 arrived earlier this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and the project has performed well financially for Capcom, reflecting solid interest in a fresh take on the franchise and continued support from players around the world. This surge in enthusiasm also fuels fan-made content, leading to more classes, quests, and gameplay experiments as the game matures.
