Blackmill Games Studio has unveiled three new videos for its ultra-authentic online shooter Isonzo, a tour of the Italian front during the First World War high in the Alps. The clips explore the wartime landscape with a focus on atmosphere, weaponry, and battlefield tactics that defined the mountain fronts.
The first clip captures the sheer force of a siege howitzer firing a super-heavy artillery shell. The blast, recoil, and crater formation are portrayed with meticulous attention to scale, conveying how such monsters shaped both the terrain and the tactics of siege warfare in the high Alps.
The second clip offers a side-by-side comparison between the game’s Baruzzi Railroad Tunnel and its real world counterpart. Players see how architectural details, tunnel geometry, and surrounding geography were translated from history into interactive space, underscoring the game’s commitment to visual fidelity.
The third video continues the tradition of realism by juxtaposing the Mount Sabotino trenches with their real life lookalikes. Viewers witness how trench networks, parapets, and fieldworks were reconstructed to reflect the conditions soldiers faced, from daylight interruptions to the claustrophobic feel of a supported trench system.
Isonzo marks the third installment in Blackmill Games’ line of World War I shooters, following releases like Tannenberg in 2017 and another earlier title. Each project earned strong reception on PC platforms, reflecting the developers’ reputation for credible wartime simulation and historical immersion.
The Edition Isonzo release is planned for this summer and will be available on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, expanding the reach of this grounded frontline experience to a broader audience.
