Aliens: Dark Descent places players twenty years after the third film, presenting a tactical strategy journey where rescuing crew members becomes a pivotal mechanic. As the mission unfolds, there’s an opportunity to save three characters: Lisa, Robert, and Drake. This guide outlines how to locate them and what consequences follow each choice.

An extra objective tied to saving crew members appears in the sixth mission, titled and framed as “Atmospheric Nightmare.” Before extending help, players should study the calendars scattered around the site. These calendars hint at future dangers and loyalties, helping decide who should be trusted. Choosing the wrong ally risks an on-board traitor sabotaging operations the following day. To minimize risk, players may eject a suspicious ally or choose not to recruit them.

Is Drake worth saving? Where to find

Drake can be located in a room situated to the east of the chamber where the crew convenes for meetings.

Drake’s beliefs have aligned with cultist ideas, and even goodwill toward him won’t shift his worldview. It is often wiser to avoid bringing him aboard and to address the threat at its source during the initial encounter.

Is it worth saving Robert? Where to find him

Robert is found north of the command and control center.

Robert’s situation is deceptively calm; a corpse lies nearby, but he appears harmless and was not attacked by a facehugger. He represents a potential crew member who poses no immediate danger and can be evacuated aboard the ship.

Does Lisa need to be rescued? Where is she hiding

Lisa is located near the laboratory, a place the team enters during the main storyline.

Lisa studied xenomorphs and is not infected nor influenced by cult members. If she is brought aboard, there is no sabotage risk introduced by her presence.

Note: Aliens: Dark Descent currently experiences occasional bugs. In such cases, even a character who should be trustworthy, like Lisa or Robert, may appear to cause sabotage or undertake cult-like actions. Players are advised to save before pursuing these characters and to perform a game reboot if a bug occurs. If the issue persists, progressing may be blocked or patches may be required.

As with many tactical missions, careful planning and risk assessment shape the outcome. Players should weigh loyalty calendars, the current mission stage, and the potential impact on crew morale and ship integrity when deciding whom to save. The balance between keeping trustworthy crew and outmaneuvering hostile forces often determines long-term success across the campaign.

In any instance, the best approach is to proceed with caution, verify loyalties, and maintain backups before making recruitment choices that could alter the ship’s dynamic on future days.
