Embers of Netlarion brings cross-faction guilds and fresh Dragonflight content

Blizzard has announced the next major update for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, titled Embers of Netlarion. The patch marks a milestone by introducing the first cross-faction guilds, allowing Alliance and Horde members to team up in organized groups within the same game world. This change aims to broaden social play and bring more flexibility to raid nights and group activities across factions.

Guilds will appear on the public test realm first, with a rollout planned in the coming days. A full deployment is scheduled to coincide with the release of update 10.1, a launch Blizzard has indicated will occur before spring ends. The test phase will let players explore the new features, identify any balance concerns, and provide feedback ahead of the live push.

Previously, Alliance and Horde players could participate together in raids and certain zones, though they could not formally join under a single guild banner. The community response to this pre-release feedback showed strong support for broader cross-faction collaboration, with many players appreciating the chance to play with friends regardless of faction alignment.

Embers of Netlarion opens the second season of Dragonflight, adding a new zone to explore, a fresh raid dungeon to conquer, a mount to chase, and new gear to collect. The update is positioned as a substantial mid-season refresh, designed to keep the Dragonflight experience dynamic for both casual adventurers and endgame raiders alike. The combination of new environments, challenging encounters, and rewards is expected to reshape how players coordinate and pursue in-game goals throughout the season.
