Dragon Fury: Modded Legends Redefine a Modern Fighting Experience

Dragon Fury expands a new fighting universe with modded legends

Last week a fresh fighting game inspired by the spirit of Mortal Kombat arrived under the name Dragon Fury. The community quickly pushed its scope beyond a single storyline, turning the game into a vibrant collage of beloved characters from a variety of popular franchises. The buzz isn’t just about visuals; it reflects a trend where players expect familiar faces to cross over into new arenas, changing how matches feel and what strategies players try first.

Already more than ten mods have made their way into Dragon Fury, each introducing a new fighter into the roster. These additions include:

  • Kermit the Frog (mod);
  • Billy Butcher, Homelander, Black Noir and Toy Soldier from The Boys (mod);
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (mod);
  • Rick and Morty from the animated series of the same name (mod);
  • Geralt from The Witcher (mod);
  • He-Man (mod);
  • Sailor Moon (mod);
  • Craig and Randy Marsh from the animated series “South Park” (mod);
  • Smurf (mod);
  • Godzilla (mod);
  • Finn from the animated series “Adventure Time” (mod);
  • Minion (mod);
  • Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7 (mod);
  • Predator (mod).

Screenshots below showcase all the characters added through these mods, illustrating the bold visual reinterpretations and the new matchups they enable.

It appears that, for now, the mods focus on changing appearances rather than granting each character their full original skillset. The base game, however, retains a robust system for customizing character abilities, providing players with a flexible playground to experiment with balance and style.

Dragon Fury itself introduces a diverse cast of its own—ninja agents, robotic combatants, alien invaders, vikings, vampires, cowboys, werewolves, demons, mages, knights, cyborgs, gladiators, and more—creating a world that blends classic arcade energy with modern visual flair.

The developers have also implemented a system that empowers players to craft their own tricks and combos, then link these sequences directly to fighters. Players can even select the weapons used in battle, ranging from swords and katanas to axes, spears, and clubs, enabling a broad spectrum of fighting styles.

Dragon Fury is available on Steam for 399 rubles.
