Former BioWare developer Mark Darrah recently shared a wish for a complete remake, or at least a remaster, of the beloved role-playing game Dragon Age: Origins. The idea sparked strong interest among fans who remember Origins as a landmark entry in the Dragon Age franchise.
Will a Dragon Age remake or remaster ever happen? Darrah’s post on social networks has fueled plenty of debate among players and observers alike.
Reaction from the gaming community has been lively. One fan wrote, “Now I’m replaying the Dragon Age series. I do this at least once a year. A remake at the level of Resident Evil 2 and 3 would be fantastic.” Another commented, “I’d like Origins to have improved graphics.” A third simply said, “Oh yes please.”
Darrah left BioWare in 2016 and co-founded Summerfall Studio in 2019, which is currently developing the adventure musical Chorus: An Adventure Musical. He is widely regarded as a central writer and the creator of the Dragon Age universe, shaping its lore and world-building across the series.
The original Dragon Age game debuted in 2009, earning strong reviews from both press and fans. The Dragon Age project continues to evolve, with Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in development and early screenshots and gameplay footage already surfacing online.
