The emotes system proves useful in both solo and co op play. In one of the early side tasks, players must inspire recruits with the emotion Hurrah. The game does not show the exact method, but the corresponding key can be found in the settings menu.

How to use emotes in Diablo 4

Open the emote wheel by pressing the E key on PC or the Up button on DualShock 4, DualSense, and Xbox controllers. The wheel reveals most of the available emotions. Use the mouse wheel to browse between menus.

Not all emotions appear in the wheel by default. To add more, open the wheel and select Change. Drag a desired emote into a free slot or replace an existing one.

These steps help players access all the emotes and use them to greet others across the game world and diversify in game communication.

Some emotes require owning a specific edition. For example, Wings of the Creator is available with the Ultimate Edition package.

In the shop, players can buy extra emotes through bundles priced around 800 to 1000 Platinum, the game currency. Examples of emotes obtainable this way include the necromancer exclusive Poor Jorick from the Manifesto of Duality set and Stand up, part of the Death Cramp set. Other category emotes feature sorcerer exclusive Deviant Students from the Ancient Symbols set and Energy Released from Magic Binding, among others. Rogue players can access Easy Money from the Weights and Measures set, and Wolfson from the Tools of the Hunt set. Barbarian emotes like To war come from the Lion’s Share set, while Druid emotes such as Nine Tails are part of Measure of Redemption.

It is useful to note that some emotes may disappear in a future update while new ones appear, keeping the selection dynamic and surprising players over time.
