Polish studio Bloober Team, known for Layers of Fear, The Medium and potentially the new Silent Hill project, explored a medieval Alien game. This is reported by the publication Gamepressure.
The project was first revealed in July 2021. At that time it carried the codename Black, a detail surfaced in documents Bloober Team submitted to participate in the European Union Creative Europe program.
Black was envisioned as a first‑person action game centered on exploration, survival, and close-quarters combat. It would unfold as a narrative experience where the protagonist faces morally challenging choices. A mysterious alien race would serve as the principal adversary.

Gamepressure suggested the invaders were xenomorphs. The plot reportedly involved a faction of cultists who worshipped the creature, only for the monster to break free and annihilate the fanatics.
The developers reportedly planned an unconventional reveal strategy. They contemplated introducing the hero as a medieval survivor who uncovers a secret cult and a deity, with the unsettling twist that the deity is the xenomorph itself revealed later in the trailers.
In recent years the project reportedly caught the attention of 20th Century Fox, which then held the Alien rights, along with Ridley Scott. The enthusiasm was high, but in March 2019 the franchise rights moved to Disney, and the project was shelved.
Today, the current status remains unclear. In July 2021 Bloober Team’s chief marketing officer, Tomasz Gawlikowski, noted that the concept had evolved significantly from its original form.
As noted in the paper, transferring the Alien concept to a different era is not a novelty. For instance, Dark Horse Comics published the Aliens: Stalker miniseries in 1998, a story in which Vikings contend with the xenomorph menace.
