Kudeshov explained that Awaken: Astral Blade is slated to launch on October 22, 2024. The game draws inspiration from the classic Metroid formula and from Ori, with Dark Pigeon Games, a Chinese studio, steering development. It is part of the China Hero Project, an initiative overseen by Sony to help Chinese developers release titles to international markets. Sony selects one or two projects each year and provides backing, guidance, and distribution opportunities. The team is excited about the near release window and the visibility this program offers.

    Kudeshov highlighted the polished combat system, with precise timings, balanced combos, and responsive movements. Three weapon types can be customized: the disc, the scythe, and the dagger.
