Despite ongoing financial pressure and staffing challenges, Ubisoft continues to promote Assassin’s Creed: Shadows for fans of the series. In recent weeks, developers acknowledged another bug in new games that can be traced back to the era of Assassin’s Creed 3.

At a recent closed-door BAFTA conference, Assassin’s Creed executive producer Marc-Alexis Côté stated that the series faced a creative crisis after wrapping up Desmond’s story in Assassin’s Creed 3. He noted that later installments lost the link between past events and the present, shifting the focus from the clash between the Assassins and the Templars to the search for Isu artifacts. He promised that Shadows would change that dynamic.

We aim to restore the balance that was once the hallmark of the franchise, to help people experience that immersive, immersive experience.

— Marc-Alexis Côté

Following the executive producer’s comments, critics and fans rightly described the series as having a single perspective. The team now intends to weave together strands from the past and the present, mirroring the balance that defined the classic entries.

Fans should note that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is scheduled to launch on February 14. The game will arrive on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

Details about the budget allocated to refining the game had been disclosed earlier, highlighting the level of polish and iteration that Ubisoft pursued before release.

A separate report linked to the broader media landscape noted that the artist behind Ratatouille and The Incredibles received a lengthy sentence for crimes including pedophilia and human trafficking.
