Shortly after Xiaomi launched the Smart Band 8 internationally, it appeared on the Russian market with a price tag of 3.5 thousand rubles, according to IXBT portal reports. The device retains a broad appeal with more than 200 customizable watch faces and a two way strap attachment, allowing it to resemble a traditional wristwatch. It can also be worn as a necklace or clipped to shoes to track running metrics such as stride length and foot strike force, giving athletes flexible options for monitoring performance.
In Russia, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is offered in two color combinations: a black case with a black strap or a gold case with a beige strap. The initial price sits at 3.5 thousand rubles, with a note that it may rise to 4 thousand rubles in the future. Across Europe, the bracelet is priced at €40, which translates to roughly 4 thousand rubles depending on the exchange rate.
The band features a 1.62 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 192 by 490 pixels and is powered by a 190 mAh battery that enables up to two weeks of usage between charges under typical use. It supports more than 150 sports modes, offers water resistance rated at 5 ATM, and uses Bluetooth 5.1 for connectivity. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 can continuously monitor blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate, sleep quality, and stress levels at any time of day. Additional conveniences include music and camera control on a connected smartphone and the ability to launch built in mini games from the band itself.
Previously, reports indicated that Xiaomi would release a lighter update for the popular device and discontinue support for older features, signaling a shift in the product lifecycle that may affect users looking for long term software updates and compatibility with new apps.
