Xiaomi is developing two foldable smartphones for the Chinese market, known as Mix Flip and Mix Fold 4. Reports from The GizmoChina post, citing insider Digital Chat Station, relay the early details surrounding these devices.
The Digital Chat Station briefing emphasizes that the internal display of the Mix Flip will be described as wrinkle free. The model is expected to boast a dual camera setup on the back, featuring a 50‑megapixel main lens complemented by a telephoto module.
On the design front, the expert mentioned that Mix Flip’s external screen and its dual rear camera system will be eye catching. Digital Chat Station also notes that the new device will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and will include satellite communication support.
Information about the Mix Fold 4 is more limited. People familiar with the project say the device will be exceptionally thin and light. Early specifications point to a weight around 255 grams, which would be about 4 grams lighter than the Mix Fold 3. The Mix Fold 4 is expected to carry a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor as well.
The rumor mill suggests a public reveal for the Mix Flip could come toward the end of February 2024, while the Mix Fold 4 might be announced in the second quarter of the year.
Meanwhile, reports noted that Apple previously introduced an unusual USB cable priced at a high premium.
