In the second quarter of 2023, Xiaomi Redmi A1+ emerged as the top seller in Russia, according to a Hi-Tech Mail.ru report that cites MTS data. The Tecno Spark 8C followed in second place, while the Xiaomi Redmi 9A occupied third. The top five also featured the Realme C55 and the Realme C30S. Almost all of these models, with the exception of Realme C55, fall in the sub ten thousand ruble price range.
Xiaomi led the market by brand in Q2 2023, accounting for roughly 28 percent of unit sales. Realme claimed the runner-up position with about 14 percent, and Tecno rounded out the top three with around 12 percent. A year earlier, the most popular trio consisted of Xiaomi at 35 percent, Samsung at 18 percent, and Realme at 12.7 percent, illustrating notable shifts in the competitive landscape.
MTS reported that between April and June 2023, six point six million smartphones were sold in Russia, generating a total value of one hundred thirty five point six billion rubles. This reflects roughly a one point fivefold rise in units and about a thirty two percent increase in value compared with the previous year. Market observers attribute the growth to a rapid recovery following the disruptions of February 2022, aided in large measure by the swift establishment of new logistics channels by domestic retailers.
