Microsoft recently released an update for Windows 11 that, on systems with MSI motherboards, triggers a system crash. This finding comes from reports compiled by Windows Latest Portal and corroborated by multiple users across the community.
The KB5029351 update was aimed at addressing security vulnerabilities, boosting performance, and improving system compatibility with various hardware configurations. Yet, after installation, a significant number of users encountered a Blue Screen of Death showing the message “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR” (translated from Russian as unsupported processor). This error appears during the boot sequence, halting progress and forcing users to seek a recovery path.
Primarily, the problem has been reported by PC owners equipped with MSI motherboards. In several cases, users running 13th generation Intel CPUs have also experienced the fault. At present, the most reliable course of action appears to be rolling back to a previous Windows version to restore normal operation.
Microsoft has acknowledged that a bug exists in the new build and has indicated that engineers are actively investigating the root cause with the goal of delivering a fix in a forthcoming update. In the interim, users with MSI-based systems have been advised to avoid installing build KB5029351 until a resolution is released.
Discussions around this issue emphasize the importance of cautious update management and the value of verifying hardware compatibility before applying new Windows builds. Users are encouraged to monitor official channels for guidance and to implement temporary fallback strategies when necessary to maintain system stability without compromising essential workloads.
